About the Role

CSWS is seeking interns with a strong commitment to political, cultural, and social change. Internships are available year-round and CSWS is flexible on start and end dates. Depending on individual interests, CSWS interns will have the opportunity to work on a host of projects, including, but not limited to the following areas: Civic Engagement and Political, Communications and Digital, Research or Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Justice. This internship will provide you with real-world experience to learn exactly what you need to know to become highly proficient in digital marketing and social media marketing.


Primary responsibilities:
- Help plan, produce, and monitor CSWS online events (at least one per month).
- Assist with social media listening and planning towards the development of a biweekly social content
calendar.
- Track performance metrics, report results, and adjust strategy as necessary to increase followers and
encourage engagement.
- Create video content and messages on social media (Instagram Reels, Tiktok, etc.) that will engage
followers
- Manage social media community – respond to comments, engage with active accounts, and establish
strong relationships
- Participate in virtual meetings with Digital & Creative Team

  • A reliable computer and internet access

  • Possesses skills in writing, presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management

  • Performs well in an environment that values creativity, flexibility, and variety

  • Exhibits personal qualities, such as open-mindedness, enthusiasm, and adaptability

  • General knowledge of most popular social media sites (Facebook, IG, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)

  • This internship is a great position if you're a social media marketing enthusiast or looking for a social media marketing and digital marketing job.

  • Candidates with less formal education, but with relevant experience, will be considered.


Desired Characteristics/Experience

  • On-trend with latest social media developments and deep understanding of online behaviors

  • Experienced with Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms

  • Exceptional written communication, multi-tasking, networking, time management, and interpersonal skills

  • Creative mindset and with a drive to meet goals and go beyond expectations

  • Graphic design experience

Compensation

Interns will be paid $15 an hour and will be asked to commit to at least 5 hours a week. Academic credit can often be arranged for full-time or part-time students. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.
